gel polish
Following the correct aftercare will ensure that your nails look great for longer.

  • Apply Nurture Oil to your cuticles every night before going to bed. This will produce stronger, more flexible and non-flaking natural nails.

  • Be careful when using suntan oils/repellent as they can cause damage and discolouration to your gel polish. Always wash hands after use.

  • Use protective gloves for housework, gardening, DIY etc.

  • If you wish to change the colour temporarily, regular nail polish can be applied over your gel polish and can be removed with non-acetone polish remover without affecting the gel.

  • Moisturise your hands after washing. This will allow the skin to stay smooth and youthful.

  • Take care when opening can rings and car doors.

  • Do not pick off gel polish as this will damage your natural nails.

  • Tinted lotions, suntan creams and hair products can discolour your polish, wash hands or wear gloves to protect them.

  • Do not bite, pick, cut or file at your nails as this will cause the gel polish to become week and chip.

  • Avoid intense heat for 24 hours after application - no sauna or sunbed as it may cause heat spikes on the nails.

  • If you wish to remove your gel polish please make an appointment for a safe removal, as you could damage your natural nails if you try to do them yourself.

  • If you wish to remove them yourself, then make sure to use pure acetone (which can be purchased from Aphrodite) and do not force the gel polish off. Home removal can take 30 minutes so make a cuppa and be patient. Removal instructions can be found here.

  • Maintenance appointments should be every 2-4 weeks.
