Nail enhancements are not a replacement but an extension of the natural nails. There are two main ways to create nail enhancements: Tips & Forms.

TIPS are lightweight plastic nail shaped plates, these are glued to the end of the natural nail and acrylic is applied over the entire nail bed and tip.
 

FORMS are fitted over the natural nail and then an enhancement is sculpted out of acrylic, the form is then removed and shaped ready for polish, design or buffed to a high shine.

Acrylic nail enhancements help conceal or fix broken, damaged, short or otherwise 'undesirable' nail appearance. It also helps stop people biting, breakages and protect nails from splits.

People who also have difficulty growing their own nails and don't tend to have strong nails opt for acrylic nails.

The above problems can be solved by using nail techniques such as nail tipping, sculptured or acrylic overlays.
